One Republic<\/a>‘s Ryan Tedder has spoken in the new issue of\u00a0Notion Magazine <\/a>about the emotional experience of helping Adele <\/a>write the third track on her record-breaking “21” album.<\/p>\n

Chatting with Notion magazine, the singer-songwriter said, “It’s easy to look back at your most successful singles and call them your favourites, but I knew there was something special when we came up with ‘Turning Tables'”.<\/p>\n

After they worked on the song Tedder went back to his hotel room in London and texted Adele saying, “I’m listening to your demo and I’m getting choked up”. \u00a0She said, ‘I’ve been crying my eyes out for the last 20 minutes.'”<\/p>\n

Even though the song only peaked at number 62 in the UK and 63 in the U.S., Ryan is still very proud to have worked on the song.<\/p>\n

“We both thought we’d nailed it,” he admitted to Notion Magazine. “It doesn’t matter that it wasn’t a radio hit. In a perfect world, the two would coincide. Most artists would be lying if they didn’t say that was the goal.”<\/p>\n

The track remains his favorite production to date.<\/p>\n
