{"id":2978,"date":"2014-06-17T05:12:56","date_gmt":"2014-06-17T12:12:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dayoneadelefans.com\/adele\/?p=2978"},"modified":"2015-10-07T09:15:58","modified_gmt":"2015-10-07T16:15:58","slug":"adele-videos-may-be-pulled-from-youtube-if-agreement-cant-be-reached","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/dayoneadelefans.com\/adele\/adele-videos-may-be-pulled-from-youtube-if-agreement-cant-be-reached\/","title":{"rendered":"YouTube dispute may see Adele, Arctic Monkeys and more pulled from website!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/adele\">Adele<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ArcticMonkeys\">Arctic Monkeys<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/radiohead?fref=ts\">Radiohead<\/a> are just some of the artists that may have their videos pulled from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/\">YouTube<\/a> \u00a0in just a matter of days if an agreement cannot be reached.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #141823;\">The\u00a0independent labels to which they belong have refused to agree on terms with the video-sharing site. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/?gws_rd=ssl\">Google<\/a>, which owns YouTube, has been renegotiating contracts as it prepares to launch a music subscription service.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #444444;\">The dispute is said to stem from unhappiness with additional features being added to the free service, not the new Premium model, while YouTube insists\u00a0the new scheme has been developed with their viewers in mind.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #141823;\">YouTube said it will be bringing \u201cnew revenue streams\u201d to the music industry, and tells <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/financialtimes?fref=ts\">The Financial Times<\/a> videos from independen<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">ts could be blocked \u201cin a matter of days\u201d if the new licenses are not negotiated. A spokesman of the indie labels said YouTube was making a \u201cgrave error of commercial judgment\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #141823;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Vice President and Global Head of\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0Business at YouTube Robert Kyncl recently claimed that they already had deals with 90% of the industry, and that they had no choice but to move forward.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\" style=\"color: #141823;\">\n<p>Three major record labels &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.universalmusic.com\/\">Universal<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sonymusic.com\/\">Sony<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.warnerbrosrecords.com\/\">Warner<\/a> &#8211; have all agreed terms with the site, leaving smaller independents like \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.xlrecordings.com\/\">XL Recordings<\/a> (Adele&#8217;s label) holding out for a better deal.<\/p>\n<div class=\"body\" style=\"color: #000000;\">\n<div class=\"body_inner\">\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">The<a href=\"http:\/\/winformusic.org\/\"> Worldwide Independent Network<\/a> (or WIN), an organization created to help push business, creative, and market access interests for the independent music community, is still working to get a fair deal for the indie labels of the world, which hopefully comes before tracks begin getting erased.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cWe have tried and will continue to try to help YouTube understand just how important independent music is to any streaming service and why it should be valued accordingly.\u201d said WIN\u2019s chief executive Alison Wenham.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"sponsored_ad\" style=\"color: #000000; text-align: center;\">\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\"><strong>Source<\/strong> : <\/span><a style=\"line-height: 1.5;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.com\/home\/us\">The Financial Times<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Featured image from the video, Rolling In The Deep<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Adele, Arctic Monkeys, and Radiohead are just some of the artists that may have their videos pulled from YouTube \u00a0in just a matter of days if an agreement cannot be reached.
