Congrats to Adele! Her ‘Live In New York City’ Music Special has been nominated for four Primetime Emmys!
This may come as no surprise for many, as her concert shattered television ratings, having 11.2 million viewers the evening of Live In NYC on December 14, 2015, not matched in the ten years since NBC’s Eagles Farewell Tour on June 1, 2005.
On NBC it was the most-watched concert special (excluding award shows) since Cher: Farewell Tour on April 8, 2003.
Among total viewers, Adele’s concert was the top broadcast music special since Feb. 9, 2014 — CBS’s Beatles Grammy Salute.
Adele, Jonathan Dickins, and Lorne Michaels were the executive producers for Adele Live In NYC.
Adele’s 2016 noms are as follows:
OUTSTANDING DIRECTING FOR A VARIETY SPECIAL
OUTSTANDING LIGHTING DESIGN/LIGHTING DIRECTION FOR A VARIETY SPECIAL
OUTSTANDING VARIETY SPECIAL
OUTSTANDING TECHNICAL DIRECTION, CAMERAWORK, VIDEO CONTROL FOR A LIMITED SERIES, MOVIE OR SPECIAL

I’m so glad for her. She did the unthinkable as a young artist – she disappeared for a few years. For anyone else, that would have been career suicide, but not for Adele. This re-introduction has been amazing. She deserves all the accolades she’s receiving.
I agree!!!
