A Nielson representative has revealed to Rolling Stone that Adele’s “21” is the first album EVER to sell over 3 million digital copies! Almost three years after its release, Adele continues to slay.
This should come as no surprise to us, as “21” continued to sell well in 2013. Her record became the 21st best-selling album of the year, according to Billboard, after topping the year-end chart in 2011 and 2012. No other album has accomplished this for two years straight in the Soundscan era!
Adele’s fans look forward to 2014 and hopefully some new music!

Before Adele was a global star, she paid her dues just like many artists, by playing gigs everywhere she could. Three years ago today, fan/photographer Zara Jones was at the Cavern Club in Liverpool on January 5th when Adele performed and graciously posed for some photographs and a chat.
Zara has written a book titled The Music Was The Thing which famous faces discuss a Beatles album of their choice. In the book, she showcases this day and includes an exclusive interview with Adele about her favorite Beatles album!
On Feb. 9, 2014, CBS will mark the 50th anniversary of the Beatles first appearance on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show’ in a big way! The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles will feature today’s top artists covering songs performed by the Fab Four that momentous night in 1964 and Beatles songs through the years. There will be footage from that landmark evening as well as other archived material. In addition, various presenters will help highlight and contextualize the musical, cultural and historical impact of the group and this legendary performance.
The program will include appearances from Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr as well as John Lennon‘s and George Harrison‘s widows, Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison. Several artists are slated to appear, perform and pay tribute. Will we see Adele? Her fans are certainly hoping so!
