Adele's publicist: Nothing is scheduled!
Say it isn’t so, Adele! Looks like fans will have to hold out a bit longer for her much anticipated new record. According to Billboard, Adele’s publicist tells them “at the moment, nothing is scheduled”.
Adele has another huge accolade with “21” surpassing 11 million in sales in the U.S. in the week ending October 5, 2014. The album was released on Feb. 21, 2011, spent 24 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, and has yet to exit the tally, spending all but 11 of its chart weeks in the top 100.
It’s the first album to reach 11 million since March 2012, when Bob Marley and the Wailers greatest hits set “Legend“, released in 1984, achieved the feat. “21” is the 12th largest-selling album of the SoundScan era, and the fifth-biggest by a woman. Yay, girl power! 🙂
Adele is currently working on her third album, but it looks like fans may not see it until 2015, according to additional reports. A recent financial filing by her label, XL Recordings, as reported by the New York Times states that “there will not be a further new release by Adele in 2014.” This past May, Adele posted a cryptic tweet to fans, hinting at a possible release by the end of this year.

What do fans do in the meantime? Dare I say it? There are some great album releases from other fabulous ladies this fall! Barbra Streisand‘s “Partners”, Aretha’s Franklin‘s “Aretha Franklin Sings The Great Diva Classics” (which includes an Adele cover), and Stevie Nicks “24 Karat Gold: Songs From The Vault” to name a few.
